President Biden on Monday appeared to fail to remember Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s name at a White House occasion — calling the Pentagon chief “the guy who runs that outfit over there.”

Biden was reporting the assignment of two female generals to lead US military warrior commands.

“Also, I need to thank the sec — the, the, ah previous general. I continue to call him general, however my, my — the person who runs that outfit over yonder,” Biden said.
